Social Purpose

Social enterprises are businesses that trade for a social purpose. Our aim is to develop a social enterprise network that creates employment for people excluded from some of the traditional labour markets. We aim to include people with disabilities, people experiencing mental illness, Indigenous Australians, people with backgrounds including homelessness, ex-offending behavior, refugees or migrants.

Innovation

Nexus latest innovation is to open a new business; our aim is to create real work for real pay either as a transition to the open labour market or as an alternative labour market for those people who need a supporting working environment.

Project Officer

Our newly appointed Project Officer Adrian has had experience working in disability enterprise services and business management. Adrian is passionate about opening a business and creating work opportunities for people with mental health issues and meeting the needs of the Canberra community.
